Medical Biology and Genetic Laboratory is equipped to perform the various genetic procedures such as examination of organisms on molecular level, DNA and RNA isolation/duplication, spectrophotometric and electrophoresis techniques in order to clarify the reasons behind diseases, to obtain information concerning diagnosis and treatment as well as research.
Medical Biology and Genetic Laboratory consist of 4 separate laboratories.
In Microscopy Laboratory, prepared samples are examined under the microscope. In DNA/RNA Isolation Laboratory, DNA/RNA are isolated manually or by kits.
In PCR Laboratory, certain parts of isolated DNA/RNA are duplicated in special tubes. Spectrophotometric measurements are also conducted.
In Electrophoresis Laboratory, migration of loaded molecules in an electrical field or gel electrophoresis result imaging of PCR samples are conducted.
In Cell Culture Laboratory, molecular reasons of the diseases as well as biological activities of candidate biomolecules in in vitro cultured cells are researched.
