Opticianry Laboratory is equipped to cater the optical lenses and glasses for the patient’s comfort in accordance with the prescription issued by eye doctor upon the examination.
Students are introduced with the equipment as well as the laboratory. In laboratory, they become familiar with the entirety of glass types, with shaping of the frames, and place these glasses into frames by creating their borders. Thus, students improve their hand skills by practice.
Besides the classic methods, students also have opportunity to apply their fundamental knowledge by laboratory technologies and in a real laboratory environment. Upon their graduation, students can continue further into their professional career with the experiences they have gained.
Opticianry Laboratory consist of 1 main lab and 2 separate units.
In Main Laboratory: Optical lens cutting, placing the lens into appropriate frame, glass painting, etc. are conducted.
In Examination Unit: Ocular tension examination, preparation of report or prescription, patient-doctor relations are taught.
In Shop: Prescription reading, transactions in accordance with the prescriptions, client-vendor relations are taught.
