The Audiology Laboratory is equipped with modern and advanced technological equipment to provide habilitative/rehabilitative treatment, including studies for the diagnosis and prevention of hearing and balance disorders for all age groups, and selection and application of the appropriate devices.
In clinical practice and laboratory courses, students have the opportunity to learn about the audiology equipment and to practice one-on-one for each test under the supervision of a mentor at the bedside assessment.
In addition to theoretical courses, students can further into their career after graduation with the experiences they have gained by practicing in a laboratory environment with advanced laboratory technologies.
There are 3 main laboratories and 4 separate rooms for the audiology department.
In the Audiometric Test Laboratory, audiometry tests (pure tone testing, speech audiometry, free field audiometry, play audiometry, visual reinforcement audiometry), tinnitus pitch matching and tinnitus loudness matching tests, central auditory processing tests are conducted. There is a double-room and double-wall quiet room which is in accordance with the ANSI standards and is appropriate for the use of pediatric audiology.
In the Electrophysiological Test Laboratory, acoustic immittancemetry tests (tympanometry, acoustic reflex test, Eustachian tube function test, and reflex decay test), otoacoustic emission test, auditory brain stem responses (ABR) and Mixed (MLR) and Late (ALR) tests are conducted.
In Videonystagmography Test Laboratory, videonystagmography (VNG) test, air caloric test and vestibular rehabilitation applications are conducted.
In V-HIT/VNG Posturography Test Laboratory, static posturography tests and V-HIT are conducted.
In Hearing Aids Simulation Laboratory, hearing aids and hearing implant practices and simulations are conducted.
In Otoplasty Laboratory, applications such as ear scoring and molding for hearing aids are conducted.
